• International cooperation

  The EPKE project was based on the sharing of experience in the area of the making of puppets. Its goal was to reduce the low effectiveness in the development of the puppeteer profession, caused in part by a lack of intergenerational and intercultural transfers of information. EPKE wanted to make the skills and knowledge of modern and traditional puppeteers available not only to puppet makers, but also to the professional public. Its priority was primarily the promotion of innovative ideas and approaches and the effort to simplify the access to the job market for young puppeteers.

• Gaudeamus Theatrum

  The international Gaudeamus Theatrum project creates a unique creative and open space for students, teachers and theatre professionals to meet each other. The initiator and organiser of this meeting is Drak Theatre and International Institute of Figurative Theatre. Every year prominent European theatre schools will visit Hradec Králové to present themselves through workshops, lectures and performances. Gaudeamus Theatrum will provide the participants and the audiences with mutual inspiration, an opportunity to get to know the youngest theatre generation up close and an important exchange of experience in an international context.

• Education and Research

  Interdisciplinary approach and the development of spectatorial structure enables the rediscovery of theatre as an open institution (see Comenius’ Labyrinth project). A functioning model of an art institute should contain an organic mobile element enabling experimental artistic research. The formulated concept of the renewed institute is defined in the Registry of Artistic Performance.

• Residential Programmes

  The International Institute of Figurative Theatre provides facilities, venues and professional services for international project proposals, for arts university student projects, or even for individual interns.
